The Giving Table Collective is a youth culinary and life skills program, a public gathering space, and a community kitchen โ all under one mission. We teach kids to cook. We bring people together around food. We feed those who need it.
Summer 2026 Pilot
Middle and high school students learn to cook, serve, and host in a professional kitchen โ walking away with food safety certification, culinary skills, and the confidence that comes from feeding people.
Free, drop-in community experiences open to anyone. Not a class โ a curated evening built around food as a vehicle for connection. A welcome drink is always waiting when you arrive.
Community volunteers cook nutritious, intentionally prepared meals distributed to shelters, senior programs, after-school initiatives, and families in need through trusted local partners.
Our Story
The Giving Table Collective was founded on a simple belief: when people gather around a table to cook, eat, serve, or give โ something changes. In them. Between them. And in the community around them.
We started with a borrowed kitchen, a clear vision, and the conviction that life skills, civic connection, and genuine community are built one shared meal at a time. Life skills are disappearing from schools. Opportunities for young people to engage meaningfully in their communities are shrinking. We're here to change that.
The kitchen guides young people โ it doesn't make them all chefs. It makes them capable, curious, and connected.
โ The Giving Table CollectiveWhat We Believe
We feed the whole person, not just the body.
Every meal and every person deserves care and intention.
The table only works when everyone has a seat.
We cook with skill, curiosity, and pride.
Our programs remove barriers, not create them.
We're building something that outlasts any one of us.
Three Branches. One Mission.
Three distinct programs, each serving a different part of the community โ all connected by the belief that food is the most powerful vehicle for human connection.
The Giving Table Kitchen
A hands-on program for middle and high school students that goes far beyond cooking. Students earn food safety certification, explore global cuisines, learn knife skills and plating, and sit down together to share every meal they make.
The Giving Table Community
Free, drop-in cooking and gathering experiences open to everyone in the community. These aren't cooking classes โ they're curated evenings built around food as a reason to connect. A welcome drink is always waiting when you arrive.
The Giving Table Feeds
Community volunteers cook nutritious, thoughtfully prepared meals distributed to people in need through trusted local partners โ shelters, senior centers, faith communities, and youth programs.
Inside Every Session
Every session is two hours and follows the same three-part structure. A student can drop in to any session and walk away with something complete and valuable.
60 minutes
Hands-on cooking built around one technique or cuisine. Knife skills, seasoning, global ingredients, food safety โ every session teaches something real and useful.
30 minutes
Plating, presentation, and hospitality training. Students rotate roles โ head cook, sous chef, table captain, host โ building a complete skill set over time.
30 minutes
Everyone sits down together and eats the meal they made. A short facilitated conversation โ about the food, the culture, the community. This is the heart of the program.
The Giving Table Dinners
Ticketed, curated public dining experiences โ multi-course meals designed and executed by Giving Table youth and community members. Part restaurant, part community event, entirely unforgettable.
Future collaborations with celebrity chefs, pop-up dinners in partner cities, and brand activations are all in the works. Get on the list to be the first to know.
Join the Dinner List โStudents cook, plate, host, and serve โ from kitchen to dining room. Every element designed by the people who made it.
